Family skiing
Boasting 15 state-of-the-art ski lifts, including a spectacular cable car that crosses the Altafossa Valley at high altitude, the Gitschberg Jochtal ski area links the ski resorts of Valles and Maranza in the Puster Valley.
Whether you prefer downhill skiing or snowboarding, you can enjoy yourself on slopes offering stunning views that are always perfectly groomed. Although easy and intermediate runs predominate, you’ll also find a few black runs that make up the 55 km of the entire network. The highest point in the resort is the summit of the Gitschberg, which offers a splendid view of 500 peaks from a viewing platform at 2,510 metres.
The Gitschberg Jochtal skiing area is particularly suitable for families with children. A wide range of facilities and leisure activities have been designed with them in mind, such as the two Gimmy Snowpark snow play areas, two ski cross courses, the fun Gimmy Fun Ride run, dedicated children’s slopes and ski schools with specialist instructors.
At lunchtime or for a snack, you can stop off at the mountain huts or refuges dotted here and there near the slopes and sample South Tyrol’s most famous specialities.
