Get on and start pedaling
Terento is a favourite destination for cycling enthusiasts, thanks to its extensive network of e-bike and mountain bike trails that wind their way up and down the plateau, climbing to reach stunning mountain huts – perfect for a tasty break between rides. All the routes are well signposted and offer stunning views. And the Dolomitenblick is the ideal starting point!
To get to know the area, we recommend the Stocknertal trail and the Guggenhof farm, two short walks with gentle climbs. Among the tours longer than 10 km and with an elevation gain of between 350 and 600 metres, we recommend the Eggerhöfe farm tour, the climb to Gols with a stop at the Astnerberg mountain hut, and the Engl mountain hut via Mosereck. The tours to the Moarhof and Pertinger mountain huts are longer and involve greater elevation gains.
If you enjoy cycling on tarmac over mostly flat terrain, you must try the famous Puster Valley cycle route, which is suitable for the whole family. Stretching a full 100 km, it connects Rio di Pusteria to Lienz in Austria. Choose the section that interests you most and, if you wish, plan a comfortable return journey by train.
