Hop on your bike and away you go!

Exercising helps you clear your head and gives both your immune system and your overall health a well-deserved boost.

The opportunities to get moving are endless on the sunny village of Terento. Walking, hiking and climbing are beloved pastimes here up on the high plateau, as are cycling and mountain biking. There’s a lot of mountainous countryside to cover where we are, at quite a high altitude, so we at the Dolomitenblick are glad to have electrical support. By that, we mean e-bikes and we love them… :-)

Our top tip for your spring e-bike tour takes you from Terento, across Vallarga to San Sigismondo and back to Terento:

Your tour begins right outside the hotel, taking you west past the village centre. Once you’ve passed the Hotel Terentnerhof, it’s then a 3 km ascent up to Marga. After the little church, you continue straight, turning left just before the Hauerhof and going down to the Hofschänke Lechnerhof. This is where the tarmacked road ends and you continue down on quite a steep forest path, following signs for path no. 21, towards Vallarga. Once past the Aichner Hof, you will come to another stretch of asphalt that takes you past the Moarhof B&B. After another approx. 15-minute ride, you’ll come to Vandoies, where you take a right near Rio di Fundres and follow path no. 4 down through the village. Finally, just before you get to the Molino Rieper company, you’ll cycle under Via Val Pusteria towards the Val Pusteria Cycle Route.
When you arrive at the Val Pusteria Cycle Route, turn left towards Brunico. The Val Pusteria Cycle Route takes you past Vandoies di Sopra and on to San Sigismondo. Here, you leave the cycle path just after the railway crossing and keep going straight on. Then, you’ll cross the highway (Strada Statale 49 della Pusteria) and ride past the little church into the village of San Sigismondo itself. Go straight on past the church, through a residential area, until you come to a road marked no. 10. After a short while, you’ll arrive at the forest, where you’ll later turn left towards Terento. Then, a more difficult ascent on a winding road awaits you – the stunning views of San Sigismondo more than make up for it, though! Stay on the tarmacked road until you reach Colli on the Strada del Sole. Head west to get back to Terento and the hotel.

An exciting (e-)bike tour is rounded off by the perfect pitstop, and there’s no better place for this than the newly opened Hofschänke Lechnerhof. The stunning location and magnificent views will take your breath away.

Have fun!
